Make Money Online For Beginners – Separating the Scams From Legitimate Opportunities
You've seen the infomercials. You've seen the ads on the internet. You may know someone who has a website or have even taken a chance with a website of your own. But are there really people who make good money online and can you do it too?
Yes, but only if you go about it the right way. It is very easy and cheap to get started making money online. The problem with anything this easy and cheap with such huge potential rewards is that it attracts scammers and people who are more interested in taking your money than helping you out.
How Do You Separate The Scams From The Legitimate Opportunities?
There are several legitimate ways to make money online.
1. Create a website and sell advertising on it. Google makes this incredibly easy. Google gets the advertisers to sign up. You sign up for the program with Google and follow their instructions for adding the program to your website. When someone clicks an ad, the advertiser pays Google and Google pays you. It could not be simpler.
2. Send visitors to a company like Amazon.com's website. Many Fortune 500 companies like Best Buy, Target, and Wal-Mart will pay you a commission if you send visitors to their website and those visitors make a purchase. It is a great way for these companies to bring in more sales and for people like you and me to make some extra money. The best part is you do not even need a product to sell or inventory to stock. You just direct people who are looking for a product to the appropriate website and when they buy, you make money.
3. Sell your own product. Many people have made millions doing this. Most people are intimidated by the thought of creating their own product. What most people do not know is that there is a multi-billion dollar market for information products. People are constantly searching for information on how to solve their problems and many are willing to pay to get access to good, accurate information. Do you have knowledge about something that others would pay for? You can write anything from a short report that is a few pages to a full blown electronic book that is 100 pages and sell that from your own website. Your cost is virtually nothing, other than the time it took you to write the report or e-book. You can even get others to sell it for you and pay them a commission just like Amazon.com does.
4. Write for other websites. There are literally billions of websites all trying to attract visitors with interesting information. There are so many things to write about that the possibilites for many websites are essentially endless. What they do not have is an endless supply of competent writers. The beauty of writing for websites is that your writing does not need to meet the same standards it would need to meet to get published in a magazine. The writing can be informal. As long as it is about an interesting topic, website owners will pay for it. This is a great way for a beginner to get started making money online without taking any risks. You are essentially an independent contractor who gets paid based on how much you can write. I am always looking for new writers for my websites and there are many others like me.
Things like the online data entry jobs, mystery shopping, and getting paid to take surveys are too often frauds and scams. They promise lots of money for little work, but most people find the only one's making the money here who are the scammers who are selling the information. These are areas you should generally stay away from.
The one thing to note about deciding what is a scam and what is the real deal is the legitimate opportunities require effort and hard work, just like anything worth getting in life. If something promises overnight riches or lots of money for very little work, it is probably a scam designed only to take your money.
